Dear CSES User Community,
The study’s name, “Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES),” has served the project well for multiple decades, has strong brand recognition, and is widely cited.
However, we have often received feedback that the name makes the project appear to be solely a study of electoral systems and does not indicate that we also conduct nationally representative surveys of the electorate.
To address this issue, the project will retain the acronym CSES but change two words in the name, from Electoral Systems to Election Surveys. The study’s new full name will thus become the:
“Comparative Study of Election Surveys (CSES)”
Over the next few weeks, the name and logo will be updated accordingly on the CSES website. We hope the new name better reflects the breadth of the project’s offerings.
Thank you for your support and use of the CSES!
