September 7, 2017

Dear CSES user community,

We wish to inform our CSES country collaborators that the final deadline to deposit their Module 4 election studies is October 31, 2017, a date which is less than two months from now. After that date we will no longer be able to include additional election studies in the CSES Module 4 dataset. The deadline is set in order to allow us to finalize and disseminate the Full Release of CSES Module 4 sometime next calendar year.

If you have yet to deposit your CSES Module 4 election study, please send an email to [email protected] updating us as to your progress.

We are now also accepting deposits of election studies for CSES Module 5. When we have enough Module 5 deposits in hand we will begin to work toward the first Advance Release of that dataset.

To be considered complete, an election study deposit must include all of the following items:
1. the survey dataset and all associated variables (CSES module, administrative, demographics, weights, etc.), cleaned to local standards
2. the original survey questionnaire, in the all of the languages in which it was administered
3. a completed Design Report
4. a completed Macro Report
5. any other information that is thought to be useful in processing the data… for instance: a codebook, the questionnaire translated into English, show cards, etc.

Election study deposits may be emailed to: [email protected]
You will receive an acknowledgement of your deposit shortly thereafter.

Please feel free to contact us at this above email address with any questions you may have.

Thanks in advance,
David Howell
