August 21, 2013

Dear CSES Colleagues,

Those of you who will be attending the 2013 annual meeting of the American Political Science Association (APSA) in Chicago are invited to join us for a reception on Saturday August 31st at 7:30pm in Room “PDR 2” on the third floor of the Hilton. Be sure to check the location upon arrival in case the room is changed by APSA for some reason.

The reception will feature the presentation of the 2013 GESIS Klingemann Prize for the Best CSES Scholarship. A brief presentation will be made of the winning work, which is the article “Benchmarking across Borders: Electoral Accountability and the Necessity of Comparison” by Mark Andreas Kayser and Michael Peress.

Given the cancellation of APSA last year, we will also be honoring the winning work from the 2012 prize, the book “Political Parties and Democratic Linkage: How Parties Organize Democracy” by Russell J. Dalton, David M. Farrell and Ian McAllister.

There will be beverages (wine, beer, soda, and water) and hot and cold appetizers available.

We hope to see you there!

Best,
André Blais
