Thailand (2001) – Replacement for Variable A2018

Variable A2018, “Language Usually Spoken At Home” is not coded correctly in Module 1 only.

Below we provide, for download, a raw data file that can be used to replace A2018 for all Thailand (2001) records. Using this data file to replace A2018 for Thailand will make the necessary corrections.

Three variables are present in the tab-delimited file below. Please note that the first record is a header with the variable names. This file contains only the 1,081 records from the Thailand (2001) election study data. The variables included are:

  • A1003 >>> ID VARIABLE – ELECTION STUDY (NUMERIC POLITY)
  • A1009 >>> ID COMPONENT – RESPONDENT WITHIN THE ELECTION STUDY
  • A2018 >>> LANGUAGE USUALLY SPOKEN AT HOME

Variables A1003 and A1009 are for the purposes of merging the file. You should overwrite the existing Thailand 2001 data for variable A2018 with the new data we provide below.

The datafile containing the corrected A2018 data can be downloaded here: THA_A2018.txt.

In addition, codebook documentation is as follows:
